One-on-one physical therapy and movement coaching for safe, confident, and joyful movement
Credit: Beatrice Terrien
Our approach to physical therapy is integrative and evidence-based, with a strong emphasis on movement as medicine. Drawing from our background in yoga, pilates and dance, we incorporate breathwork and a focus on quality of movement. We support individuals of all ages, body types and physical abilities to achieve functional and aspirational goals. Our calm, bright studio is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
Conditions that we commonly treat include musculoskeletal pain and injury, post-surgical rehabilitation, gait and balance concerns, postural dysfunction, osteoporosis management, and deconditioning. We also offer movement coaching for health and fitness goals, and small-group workshops.
About Us
Our Team
Dr. Divya Rajaraman PT, DPT, PhD
Throughout my career, I have been drawn to the power of movement to heal and enhance quality of life. I have worked in health services research and program development in southern Africa, England, India and the USA; taught yoga and meditation to people from diverse backgrounds; and practiced physical therapy in inpatient, outpatient and home-based settings. These experiences have shaped a holistic and collaborative approach to care.
I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Hunter College, CUNY, and yoga teacher certification from Integral Yoga. I have taken continuing education courses in foot and ankle function, myofascial release techniques, Parkinson’s movement disorder, osteoporosis management, and therapeutic yoga. I also hold a PhD in Social Policy from Oxford University and a BA in Economics and French from Amherst College.

Physical Therapist
I have been inspired by the way mindful movement can restore confidence, build strength, and enhance overall well-being. My path has included working in acute and outpatient settings, teaching Pilates through a rehab-driven lens, and supporting clients across a wide spectrum of ages and abilities. I value collaboration, clear communication, and problem solving, and I strive to create programs that prioritize safety, functional independence, and lasting progress. My goal is to provide thoughtful treatments that help each client feel more connected to their body and more empowered in their daily life.
I hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York University, and I am a Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist and Certified Pilates Instructor through Polestar Pilates.
